and from day sailors to fully equipped yachts for a circumnavigation
of the world. The
cost of boating is increasing constantly and we are sure
you would welcome a way to achieve more for each pound spent
when purchasing fittings and equipment. We also know you
welcome an attentive, supportive and special style of service
in choosing and sourcing many items for your craft. Our aim
is to provide this service.
Since
the summer of 1987 Shamrock Chandlery has operated the "Boat
Owners Club" with the aim of helping to reduce the costs
of your pastime and providing a vehicle for a special kind
of service to you.

page is designed to answer many of the questions raised during
the extensive market research we undertook prior to the creation
of the club. |
What
is the "Boat Owners Club" and how does it work?
The "Boat Owners Club" is a unique service that enables
you, the yachtsman (or woman), to make large savings on items
purchased either by post or in person. On receipt of your completed
application form, we will send you your numbered "Boat Owners
Club" card. When goods are purchased the total amount is
entered by computer against your individual card number. At the
end of October each year an analysis of purchases and the total
amount spent is issued along with your CREDIT CHEQUE. Overall
savings up to 12.5% are achievable.

How
does the "Credit Cheque" work and how is it calculated?
It is similar to an ordinary cheque, redeemable in the chandlery.
Just use it to pay for your purchases as you would use any
other cheque. Be careful not to lose it! Your credit cheque
is real money.

How is my credit calculated?
At the end of each October, all your purchases, including VAT,
are automatically totalled. Your credit is calculated based
upon this figure. Set out below is the scale of credits that
apply.

How much does it cost to join?
Absolutely nothing. Membership is FREE!

When can I join and does it matter if I join halfway through
an accounting period?
No. There is no problem. You can start earning discount from
the moment you join.

Is there a time limit to use my credit cheque?
Yes. Credit Cheques must be used within 24 months from date of
issue.

Does Shamrock Chandlery offer any other services?
Yes. We provide a special support service for the long range
yachtsman cruising around the world. A simple fax or telephone
contact from any port of call assures your needs are ready
at your next destination.

What advice can you give me concerning fittings and equipment?
Our staff are all fully conversant with the yachting industry
and the complexities of marine equipment and are therefore
competent to answer all your questions and advise you about
the choice of purchase.

Clothing Shop
The shop is located in the Shamrock Quay chandlery (see map).
It carries all the best names in yachting clothing and offers
a large selection from underwear to outerwear, with an extensive
range of foulweather gear.
